Rain-X

“Outsmart the Elements”

TricorBraun faced a challenge similar to Shell’s Black Magic Tire Wet product for their Rain-X brand product. Traditionally sold in 32oz trigger sprayers with messy overspray and dripping, we relied on the wisdom learned from our Black Magic design. Flooding an applicator head with product and a direct application process resulted in a clean delivery and execution of applying the product to the windshield.

Creating an ergonomic, easy to grip bottle we placed a soft felt head on a collar sealing it with an overcap and pintel. To use Rain-X, the consumer removes the overcap, floods the felt head with product and directly applies it to the windshield. Once the product is hazed over the user removes the wipe cloth, sold in the base cup, to clean up and remove any left over product.

Sold in a bright yellow pinched-waist peanut, shaped-bottle, the design brings excitement to what was a bland flat category. This re-design helped grow and solidify the Rain-X nameplate as the leader in windshield products.
